Here’s what we plan to write in the REACH public consultation

Currently there is an ongoing public consultation on the REACH REFIT and Review process. Here I would like to share ChemSec’s input to the public consultation with you, in the hopes I can inspire you to answer it yourself. We know that answers from progressive companies, not only from companies based in the EU but also in other regions, are very much appreciated and taken into account by the Commission.

ChemSec strongly encourages you to reply to this consultation even though some of the questions and answers will not seem relevant to you.

The consultation deadline is 28th of January 2017.

ChemSec has concerns with how REACH is implemented, specifically about the quality of registration dossiers, the speed in which hazardous substances are being phased out and the authorisation process. Moreover, we would like to see groups of chemicals regulated to a larger extent as well as imported articles to be included in the authorisation process. We have tried to address our concerns in our reply to the public consultation as well as proposed changes we believe would make the process more efficient.

In the links below you will find our thoughts and elaborated answers to the free text questions and the tick box replies.

We are also very happy to receive your input. Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any comments or questions.
