The SIN List used in two new WECF consumer guides
18 December 2009

WECF, Women in Europe for a Common Future, runs a campaign for raised consumer awareness, mainly focused on women and children. WECF develops Consumer Guides on important product groups and uses the SIN List to identify problematic ingredients and their health effects. WECF produced a “Toys Guide“ earlier this year and soon, due to high demand, WECF will launch two new Consumer Guides on household detergents and baby care products.

- “To base the Consumer Guides on scientific data the SIN List has proven to be very useful”, says Sonja Haider, Coordinator Chemicals at WECF. “The methodology and the knowledge and experiences of the involved organisations stand for reliability and credibility. For all of WECF Consumer Guides the SIN List has provided a list of relevant chemicals to look out for within the specific product category.”
