On 27 January 2009 the San Francisco Department of the Environment together with the University of California, Berkeley Center for Occupational and Environmental Health is organising a SIN workshop in San Francisco, the United States.

The event SUBSTITUTE IT NOW: UNDERSTANDING THE ORIGINS AND EXPLORING THE POTENTIAL OF CHEMSEC'S BOLD LIST OF "BAD ACTOR" CHEMICALS is an in-depth effort to 

- Learn about the SIN List 1.0 and its methodology 

- Understand its role within the context of REACH implementation, and

- Explore how we might leverage it to advance green chemistry and chemicals policy at the state and federal level

ChemSec has kindly been invited to the SIN workshop to present the SIN List, explain its development and discuss its use in the REACH process. Further, the workshop will elaborate on how the SIN List can be used in chemicals regulation and chemicals management in the US.
