Global agreement to tackle mercury

Today, a global agreement was reached in Nairobi on how to manage the mercury issue world-wide. In an unanimous decicion all 140 governments present voted yes to a legally binding treaty on how to deal with, and reduce, mercury emissions on a global scale. What has been achieved is a great leap forward since it is the first time such a deal has been struck on a global scale.
