It is no secret that Europe’s chemicals regulation needs a facelift. ChemSec is determined to help overworked officials with their most challenging task — to simplify REACH and protect people and the planet in the same go.
What you’re about to read regarding the REACH revision would not only streamline and simplify the regulation. It would also see the EU maintain its leadership position, securing a level playing field, competitiveness and a circular economy while increasing health and environmental protection. 36 NGOs urge EU leaders to deliver safer chemicals
Europe is facing a chemical pollution crisis, contributing to severe diseases and resulting in billions of Euros in health, environmental, and societal costs each year. The high level of protection promised under EU law has not been delivered. This needs to change.
So, together with 35 other NGOs, we sent a letter to top EU leaders demanding they stay true to REACH’s primary objective: a high level of protection of human health and the environment.
